The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
Every Scouting activity moves young people toward the basic aims of: character development, citizenship training, leadership, and mental and physical fitness.
Advancement is one of the eight methods used by Scout leaders to help youth fulfill the aims of the BSA.
Rank Badges
Since 1912, the Eagle Scout rank has represented a milestone of accomplishment—perhaps without equal—that is recognized across the country and even the world. Those who have earned the Eagle Scout rank count it among their most treasured achievements. “Eagle Scout” is not just an award; it is a state of being. Those who earned it as youth continue to earn it every day as adults. That is why an Eagle Scout IS an Eagle Scout—not was.
Merit Badge College
Merit Badge College will be December 6-8, 2024 at Pine Hill Scout Camp. While this is an overnight trip, there is an option for a day pass. I will register everyone so they should send me their name and mb requests ASAP. The cost will be $20 for day trippers bringing their own food. For those camping, $30 plus an as yet to be determined nominal food cost. Merit badge choices, schedules, and prerequisites can be found on the MBC website. Go to council calendar, click on 12/6 event for the site where links for the catalogue can be found.
